Meet Melissa Roberts New, MSW, LCSW

Melissa Roberts New, MSW, LCSW is a seasoned clinician with over twenty-five years of experience with a focus on adolescents and young adults in crisis, pregnant and parenting teens, and those who have a trauma history. 

She is motivated by a passion for adolescents and her community. Melissa creates therapeutic relationships that are based on compassion, respect, and collaboration. Through building trust and a commitment to authentic relationships, she can engage adolescents and young adults who have been considered difficult to work with by others. Additionally, Melissa utilizes a recovery model of service provision with a strength-based perspective in combination with an eclectic mix of therapeutic interventions including: traditional talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, play therapy, Brainspotting, and task-focused therapy. Faith-based counseling is yet another of her strengths. These services are provided to youth, their families, and individuals in need. She provides clinical supervision to professionals. Additionally, she provides consultation and collaboration with community agencies to further program development and evaluation.

Samantha Zylstra, LMFT is a seasoned therapist with over twenty years of clinical experience. Her clinical work has focused on providing clients a safe place for healing and deep personal growth. Donje Swanson, LPC

Donje Swanson, LPC, NCC is a trained trauma professional specializing in helping adolescents and adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, stress management, sexual abuse/assault, grief, major life transitions, and body image issues. She provides a safe and supportive counseling environment free of judgment where clients are invited to openly discuss concerns and to learn more about themselves in order to become empowered, grow emotionally, gain insight, resolve past issues, and to learn the skills to create successful lives. She combines her broad technical and theoretical background with a positive strength-based method. She has also served as adjunct faculty for DePaul University and served as an expert speaker on the topics of eating disorders and co-occurring disorders.

Melissa utilizes a non-judgmental approach to empower clients to create change in their lives. She is EMDR trained and well-versed in several evidenced-based practices, including DBT and ACT. Melissa works with adults, adolescents, couples, and families.

Shannon Stewart MS, RDN, LDN

Shannon Stewart MS, RDN, LDN is a non-diet dietitian who specializes in nutrition wellness and counseling. She has experience working at the PHP/IOP level of care treating adolescents and adults with eating disorders. Focusing on Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating, she approaches each case with curiosity and a desire to meet individuals where they are at. Whether your goal is to learn how to manage a health condition through nutrition or heal your relationship with food, Shannon brings compassion and understanding to each session.
